Challenge

Rich Wickson, Digital Print Supervisor at Hunts , explains: “We began with one very basic machine that was little more than an office colour laser printer, but as demand increased for short run colour digital work it was clear that something faster, more robust with greater throughput and better quality output was required”. Hunts set about finding a solution and decided to invest in a state of the art Konica Minolta bizhub PRESS C8000 Print Production system. “It was a great choice for us, and has proved valuable in our service offerings.”

Solution

With a large plant investment in existing offline finishing equipment, Hunts opted for large capacity stacker units in the system configuration selected. However, the Konica Minolta bizhub PRESS range can be supplied with a flexible choice of online finishing options including, hole punching, folding, stapling, saddle stitching and perfect binding, if required. Hunts also selected a Fiery print controller although a Creo option is also available. “We were already using Fiery controllers and imposition is easy and accurate, we find.”
